Communities in three Nzema districts to be connected to electricity

Gwira Aiyinase (W/R), Dec. 19, GNA – One hundred and thirty-nine communities in three districts in the Western Region are to be connected to the national power grid within the next six months under the national electrification scheme.

The project would be funded from a 350- million- dollar facility contracted to Weldy Lamont Association, an American Company, to install and supply materials and equipment to over 1,400 villages, towns and communities in Central, Western and Brong Ahafo regions for the electrification programme.

Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Deputy Energy minister and MP for Ellembenle made this known in an address he read on behalf of the Minister of Energy, Dr Joe Oteng Adjei at a sensitization meeting with the people of Gwira Aiyinase at the weekend.
