Communication Minister urges NCA to improve quality of service

Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Communication on Wednesday said the National Communications Authority (NCA) would adopt measurable quantitative measures in assessing the quality of services provided by telecom operators

He however pledged Government’s commitment to support Agencies and Departments under the Ministry to improve on their operation in order to facilitate the Better Ghana Agenda.

Dr Boamah made this known when he paid a working visit to the NCA.

He said the NCA as telecom regulators must be concern with the quality of service of telecom operators.

Dr Boamah said the Authority could collaborate with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication to invest in the mounting of mobile cells at areas where there is poor communication network and a threat to national security.

Mr Paarock Vanpercy, Director General of the NCA said the Authority regulates the interest of consumers and operators as well as government, and advises the Ministry of Communications on policy formulation.

He said over the past three years, the NCA had opened offices in Tamale, Kumasi and Takoradi, and hopes to open four more offices in Sunyani, Bolga, Ho and Koforidua.
