Committee of eminent chiefs on Dagbon crisis adjourns sitting

Kumasi, July 3, GNA – The three eminent chiefs handling the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis, on Tuesday adjourned its sitting to Friday, July 4, 2008. The adjournment was to provide the Andani faction an ample time to study a programme submitted by the Abudu faction for the performance of the funeral rites of Naa Mahamadu, the late Yaa Naa at its previous sittings a few weeks ago. Additionally, following the release of a set of guidelines to be followed before the performance of the funeral rites by the committee, the Abudu’s also pleaded for time to examine the guidelines. At a close door meeting at the Manhyia Palace, the Andanis requested for time to study both the guidelines and the Abudu’s programme for the funeral. The Committee, therefore, granted the request and duly adjourned its sitting.
