Commissioning of projects not abuse of incumbency – Kofi Adams

National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has brushed aside claims that President John Mahama is abusing incumbency.

Kofi Adams speaking to Asempa FM in Accra said assertions that the president is abusing his office by commissioning myriad projects as general elections draw close is “unfair” and “palpable falsehood”.

“The president undertook all these projects he is commissioning so it is not out of place for him to commission them. I think the criticisms by the NPP and other think thanks are completely incorrect,” Kofi Adams added.

Critics of President John Mahama has accused him of rushing to commission projects few days to elections is an attempt to win the souls and minds of voters.

The president has so far commissioned and inaugurated numerous projects few days to the December polls, including a Faecal treatment plant, Bukom Sports Complex, Kotokoraba Market, Kasoa Interchange, Kwame Nkrumah Interchange and a host of others.

But, Kofi Adams stressed that such claims are baseless because there is a thin line between the president official duties and duties as a presidential candidate.
