Wamfie (B/A), Dec 2, GNA- Mr Stephen Ntim, the First National Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), at the weekend said the government’s “Golden Age of Business” is a challenge to financial institutions to support individuals and businessmen in the private sector.
He was addressing shareholders of Wamfie Rural Bank at its 20th Anniversary celebration and 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Wamfie in the Dormaa District of Brong-Ahafo.
Mr Ntim commended rural banks for bringing their services to the doorsteps of the people and urged them to continue to support them.
He said negotiations are in progress with the Bank of Ghana to raise the Wamfie bank to the status of community bank and advised the shareholders to increase their share capital.
Mr. Ntim appealed to the Wamfie Rural Bank to support the construction of a library and a social centre being constructed by the Wamfie Youth Association.
Barima Yeboah Kodie, Aduahene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, urged the bank to support the Dormaaman Education Endowment Fund to help promote education in the District.
