Columbus East Church of Pentecost to Dedicate Building

Columbus, OH – The expansion of the Church of Pentecost in Midwestern United States is evidenced by the growth of Columbus East Assembly into a fully-bloomed church. On Sunday, July 13, 2008, this assembly and the church at large will mark a milestone as they dedicate a building that will serve as their place of worship.

Started about five years ago, this assembly is the third in the Columbus area and serves Ghanaians residing in the east-side neighborhoods including Reynoldsburg, Blacklick, and Canal Winchester. The 5,200 square feet property located at 4283 Kimberly Parkway was purchased with funds raised from within the local assembly with assistance from the district and the national office of the church.

According to Rev. Stephen Omane Yeboah, the Columbus District Pastor, the acquisition of this property is a testament of the commitment of the members and the presbytery of the church to see God’s kingdom established in the ever-growing Ghanaian community. He commended Rev. John Kwame Appiah whose visionary leadership saw the need and initiated this process a year ago during his term as the district pastor.

According to the building committee chairman Elder S. Baffour Awuah, the church plans to expand its service to the community and will begin a day-care program, an after-school program, and an adult literacy program.

The dedication service will begin at 10 am and in attendance will be the National Head of the Church of Pentecost USA Apostle Albert Amoah, the Chicago Regional Head Rev. Maxwell Kusi, as well as all district pastors of the church.
