Collective Agreement of University of Ghana signed

The Management and Unionised Staff of the University of Ghana, Legon, on Tuesday signed their Collective Agreement. The University of Ghana Standing Joint Negotiation Committee fashioned out the Unified Condition of Service.

The Management team comprised the Vice-Chancellor Professor Ivan Addae-Mensah, the Chairman of the Joint Negotiation Committee, Professor Kofi Kumado, the Registrar, Mr Teddy Konu and the Secretary of the Standing Joint Negotiating Committee Mr. D. O. Baidoo.

The staffs were represented by the National and Local Executives of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) and included its National Chairman, Mr Michael Nyame, Deputy General Secretary of TEWU, Mr M. S. Bogobiri, Legon TEWU Local Chairman Mr Peter Lumor and the Local Secretary Mr George Abugah.

In attendance were the Registrar in charge of the University Relations Office Mr Peter Yarquah, Secretary to the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals (CVCP) Mr Opoku Agyakwa, University Finance Officer Mr John Minlah and the Executive Members of the Local Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG).

Professor Kumado thanked both parties for their patient and hard work that facilitated the signing of the agreement.
