Kasoa (C/R), Aug 4, GNA – The concrete bridge that link Kasoa to Obuom, a farming community, has become a death trap for commuters following its collapse due to the recent rainfall. The caved-in bridge has halted the movement of vehicles from Kasoa to Obuom forcing commuters to walk on its strip to the peril of their lives in other to board vehicles to their respective destinations. Besides Oboum, the bridge also provides access road to Nsawam, Krowadua, both farming communities and for students of first and second cycle schools around the area.

Mr Joseph Omeni, a tailor in the area appealed to the area authorities to take action to repair the road so that students and pupils whose schools are along the road could attend school punctually. Madam Sophia Monney, kenkey seller also in the area said the condition of the bridge posed a great danger to those walking on the strips particularly the school children. She said it if nothing was done in a hurry to renovate it the next rainfall could completely collapse the bridge.

Mr Samuel Kofi Ntow, who described himself as a concern citizen, said the bridge served as an importance route for the haulage of goods and therefore early repair could revive the economic activities in the communities.
