Cocobod to provide water to Sowutuom

Breman Asikuma (C/R) Oct. 14, GNA – The Ghana Cocoa Board as part of its effort to improve the living standard of people of cocoa farming communities is to construct a solar powered water pump system at Sowutuom in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district of the Central Region. The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Emmanuel Adjei Domson who said this at the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Breman Asikuma said the project would start this month. He said the Assembly upon request by the District Education Directorate would construct a six classroom-block at Adandan where till date there is no permanent structure for a school. The DCE said the Assembly would celebrate its 30 anniversary from November 14 to 16.

The theme for the celebration will be “Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa at 30; Eliminating Illiteracy in the District”. There would be quiz and debate competition by Breman Asikuma Senior High School, Odoben Senior High school and Abeka Senior High School, and football competition among selected communities s part of the program for the celebration. 11 Oct. 08
