COCOBOD presents vehicle to Best Cocoa farmer

Accra, Dec. 11, GNA – Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has official presented a four-wheel vehicle valued at GH¢41,000 to Mr Samuel Awuni, the 2010 National Best Cocoa Farmer in Accra.

In addition, the winner would be sponsored to participate in an agricultural fair next July in an unnamed country at an estimated cost of=

$8,000. He received other items including farming implements and consumer items valued at GH¢96,989.

Mr Anthony Fofie, Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD said it was the=

company’s responsibility to show gratitude to cocoa farmers for their immense contributions towards national development. Mr Awuni thanked COCOBOD for the support and called on the governmen= t to subside the price of fertilisers and cocoa spraying machines.
