COCOBOD contributes to Baah-Wiredu’s funeral

Accra, Oct. 15, GNA – Management of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) on Tuesday presented assorted food items to the family of the late Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister for Finance and Economic Planning in Accra.

The items, which included provisions, rice, bottled water, formed part of the management’s contribution towards the funeral celebrations. Mr Isaac Osei, Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, making the presentation expressed appreciation to the late Baah-Wiredu for his hard work, humility and assistance to the cocoa industry that led to the current 36 per cent increase in the commodity.

He expressed condolence to the bereaved family and urged them to be steadfast.

Mr Sampson Apeagyei-Mensah, Head of Family, receiving the items expressed appreciation to the management, corporate bodies, leadership of political parties and individuals for their sympathy and solidarity with the family.

He announced that the final funeral rites had been scheduled for November 13-14, this year. The late Baah-Wiredu died on Wednesday, September 24, in a South African Hospital after a short illness.
