Mankranso (Ash), Dec 8, GNA – “Bo Ho Bio,” literally meaning ‘Hit There Again,” was the spontaneous shout that came from farmers when Mr Isaac Osei, the Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) announced that bonus was ready.
The over 100 cocoa farmers were excited to hear the pronouncement and therefore called for a repetition of the statement. It happened at Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South District when the Chief Executive met the cocoa farmers and officials of the Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs) in the district on Tuesday. Mr Osei warned against the use of unapproved chemicals and said chemicals should be purchased from COCOBOD. He said child labour, improper fermentation periods and operating without passbooks and Akuafo Cheques were wrong practices that farmers should avoid.
Mr Joseph Osae Awuku, the District Manager of the Quality Control Division (QCD), urged the farmers to co-operate with the division. 08 Dec 06
