Cocoa shed collapses on two women, injuring them

Madam Theresah Mansah, a pregnant woman, and another woman have been admitted in hospital following the collapse of a cocoa warehouse on them during a heavy rainstorm on Tuesday.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the incident at Ayomso Mr. Joseph Atta, an eye-witness, said a heavy downpour caused the wall of the warehouse near which the two women were preparing their supper to collapse on them.

He said the women were taken unconscious to the Goaso Government Hospital and later transferred to Adu Yaw Nkwanta Hospital.

In a related development more than 80 people have been rendered homeless at Fawohoyeden in the same municipality after a rainstorm ripped off the roofing of their houses.

Some of the houses were completely destroyed as a result of the storm making most of the victims to lose their personal effects.

The most affected building was Fawohoyeden District Assembly (DA) “A” Junior High School (JHS).

The chief of the town Okokodurofuo Boakye Dankwa appealed to the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly to assist the school and other victims to re-roof their buildings.
