Cocoa farmers call for more spraying gangs

Achiase (Ash), Nov 2, GNA – Cocoa farmers at Achiase near Nkawie in the Atwima District have called for the formation of more spraying gangs in the area to enable all cocoa farms to be sprayed.

According to the farmers, the small number of spraying gangs in the area was causing a lot of problems and concern among them.

Mr Victor Owusu, one of the concerned farmers who spoke on behalf of others said the situation had become a major source of worry to them since there was only one spraying gang, which can not cope with the volume of work.

He called on the Atwima District Mass Spraying Task Force to constitute more spraying gangs in the area to ensure that all farms are sprayed.

Efforts to get officials of the district’s mass spraying task force for their comments proved futile since they were almost all the time not available.
