Cocaine saga: Court rules on Dawood’s bail application Dec 12

Businessman Alhaji Mohammed Dawood, who is behind bars in connection with the Nayele Ametefeh cocaine bust at the Heathrow Airport, will know his fate about his bail application on December 12.

Dawood was once again denied bail on Monday when the case was called, and the court scheduled Friday, December 12, to give its ruling on the application.

Alhaji Dawood is alleged to have aided Ametefeh’s easy passage through the VIP Lounge at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The businessman is said to have assisted Ametefeh and her two other accomplices to transport about 12kg of cocaine. He has pleaded not guilty.

Twelve persons are standing trial in Ghana in connection with the cocaine bust that grabbed international headlines since Ametefeh was arrested on November 10.

The principal suspect Ametefeh has pleaded guilty and will reappear before a UK court January 5 to know her fate.
