Accra, July 29, GNA – Next month’s Coca Cola Medal Open Golf Championship would tee off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, August 15.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Wednesday that about 100 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal competition. He said the competition, which would be played in accordance with the local rules of the Club, would be sponsored by Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited.
The General Manager said the competition which would end in December, has continued to be keener every month and that the August event would not be exceptional. Yaw Assah-Sam, Dan Dennis, Matthias Dorfe, Charles Tabi and Mike Ezan are among some of the participants who would battle for honours in the Men’s category for the trophy which would be presented to the winner in December.
The Ladies segment would also witness a stiff opposition from Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Mary Asafo-Adjaye and Ama Morgan. 29 July 09
