Coalition Of Ngos In Health Appeals To Doctors To End Strike Action

The Northern region Branch of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health has added its voice to calls to doctors in our public hospitals to discontinue their strikes on humanitarian grounds to save lives whilst negotiations towards finding amicable solution to their grievances are being handled.
In a statement issued to the media in Tamale and signed by its chairman Mr. Ken Wujangi and Secretary Halima Sagito-Saeed, the group also appealed to the government and the fair wages committee to fast track processes aimed at ending the strike action so that lives could be saved.
The statement explained that, there weren’t much private hospitals in the Northern regions and the people were hard hit with the strike.
The Northern Region Branch of the Ghana Medical Association received commendations from the Ghana Coalition on NGOs for their committed and dedicated medical service to the people of the area and appealed to them to specifically soften their stance in relation to the strike in view of the peculiar nature of the North.
