Co-operative transport society declares 93.2 million cedis profit

Mampong (Ash), Sept 08, GNA – The Asante-Mampong Co-operative Transport Society made a net profit of 93.2 million cedis after tax and other deductions for the 2004 fiscal year.

Out of the 158.1 million cedis income the society generated, it spent 64.8 million cedis as expenditure, Mr Akwasi Akuoko, President of the society, has said.

Addressing the annual general meeting of the society at Mampong, he said the society spent 108.3 million cedis on its three-storey office complex under construction and advanced 15.2 million cedis as soft loans to members.

He attributed the society’s success to the collaborative efforts of the management and the entire members and expressed appreciation to them for their support.

Mr H.K. Hagan, the Sekyere West District Co-operative Officer, commended the drivers for being passenger friendly and urged them to keep it up.

The members on their part lauded the good work done by the management and said management has been transparent and accountable to the members.

Mr Kwasi Sarpong received the most disciplined driver award while Mr Robert Wiredu received the hard working driver award.
