Co-operate to improve socio-economic activities – Minister

Essam (E/R), Oct. 26, GNA – The Rev. Daniel Opong Wereko, Akyem Oda District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has urged the Essam Presbyterian Congregation in the Eastern Region, to co-operate with each other for an improvement in their socio-economic activities. He advised the congregation to forgive one another, since that was the highest will of God and also the basis for peaceful co-existence. Rev. Wereko gave the advice when he led a team of church officials on a working visit to two farming communities near Oda.

According to him: “Living a consistent Christian life, means total obedience to the word of God, no matter the circumstance”. He said the church was committed to excellence and high standards, adding they should make sure that whatever they preached was in conformity with what they did.

The District Minister advised them to be guided by a high sense of sacrifice and also adopt workable techniques so as to promote effective community participation in the church.

Rev. Alexander Nyantakyi, Minister in-charge of the Akim Oda Trinity Congregation, who accompanied the team advised the communities – Essam and Adjobue – to display the qualities of maturity before, during and after the December general elections.

Mr. Reginald Sackey, assembly member for the Essam Electoral Area and Mr. Oscar Yaw Amuzu, the Health Committee Secretary at Adjobue expressed gratitude for the visit, adding that the communities would be guided by the church leader’s advice.
