Club donates to orphanage

Kumasi, Nov 25, GNA-Aduana Club, a social club in Kumasi has donated assorted items worth about two million cedis and 500,000 cedis cash to the Kumasi Children’s Home.

The items included one bag of sugar, two bags of rice, six cartons of Apino soap, a carton of powder soap, two cartons of milk, assorted biscuits, toilet rolls and second hand shoes.

Presenting the items on behalf of the club, Mr Benjamin Amoah, chairman of the club, said one of the major objectives of the club was to support the needy in society.

He therefore, gave the assurance that the club would continue to support the Home since government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of adequately taking care of the children. Madam Veronica Aggrey, Senior Child Care Officer, who received the items, thanked the club for the gesture and appealed to other benevolent organisations and societies to come to the aid of the Home.
