Clients’ exhibition trade show ends

Mampong (Ash), Nov 24, GNA- The four-day clients exhibition and trade show of the Rural Enterprise Project (REP) Phase Two, ended at Asante-Mampong on Saturday.

The trade show organised by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in collaboration with the Sekyere West district assembly, brought together about 90 beneficiary clients from the 13 project districts in Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo.

They showcased their products like batik, tie and dye, assorted soap, pomade, honey and farm tools.

The exhibition was opened on Tuesday, November 18, by Mr Lennart Bage, IFAD President as part of his visit to Ghana to celebrate IFAD’s 25th anniversary.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Mampong, the participants expressed satisfaction with the trade show, which they said enabled them to showcase their products.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr Thomas Edward Atakorah, the Sekyere West District Chief Executive, called on Ghanaians to patronise made in Ghana goods.

He pledged the district assemblies’ unflinching support for IFAD and REP sponsored activities designed to assist the youth to acquire employable skills.

Mr Atakorah commended the Mampong police and the Neighbourhood Watch Committees for providing security and maintaining order throughout the exhibition, which contributed, to its success.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, Mamponghene, commended the initiative of the youth as evidenced by the products they exhibited and asked them to sustain the momentum.

He advised those who had contracted loans to use the money judiciously and also ensure that they paid back to enable others to benefit from the package.
