Clergy called not to be successful but faithful – Rev Mcintyre

Reverend Canon Calvin Mcintyre, Rector of Church of Good Shepherd, Bronx, New York, has reminded members of the clergy that they were called to the priesthood not to be successful but to be faithful.

He, therefore, appealed to the members of the clergy to be honest, humble, modest and always remember the less privileged in the society.

Rev. Canon Mcintyre was the guest preacher at the ordination of Rev. Father Joseph Kojo Ampadu, 58, a mechanical engineer with Guinness Ghana Limited into the priesthood and Rev. Ernest Kwame Obeng, 25, an Information, Communication and Technology specialist, as a Deacon of the Anglican Church at Koforidua on Sunday.

The ordination was conducted by Very Rev. Benjamin Francis Quashie, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church.

Rev. Canon Mcintyre told the wives of the newly ordained clergymen that there would be times when they would feel lonely and forgotten and urged them to be strong when those moments come in order to support their husbands in their work.

He urged the priests to let the peace of Jesus Christ rule in their daily lives and advised them to pray to God for support whenever they found themselves in crisis. **
