Members of the clergy have been asked to stop making false prophecies to impress leaders of political parties, who visit their churches because it can negatively impact on national peace and stability.
The outgoing Eastern Regional Minister, Dr Kwase Akyem Apea-Kubi, who made the call, asked Ghanaians to collectively protect the peace that God has bestowed the country by sheer grace and mercy.
Dr Apea-Kubi was speaking at the thanksgiving service, organised at Jackson’s Park Koforidua on Sunday, as part of activities to climax the national week-long fasting and prayers for peace in the country.
He appealed to parents to protect their children below 18 years from being lured by politicians to participate in the biometric voter registration that begins on March 24 .
Delivering the sermon, Reverend Stephen Appenteng of the Church on the Rock, advised political parties in the country stop the politics of insults, and tell the people about their achievements and plans to better standards of living.
The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alex Asamoah, called on the people to participate in the registration and to assist the aged and disabled to do same.**
