Classroom, block inaugurated

Kasoa, April 6, GNA – A new two-unit block and a renovated classroom for the Klass Haven School Complex, a private school near Kasoa have been inaugurated.

Wings of Support, a Holland based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) provided 33 million cedis for the project, which was supervised by the Urban Poor Child Organisation (UPCO), an NGO in Accra. Mrs Cecilia Damalie, Headmistress said the institution was named after Mr Klass Haven, her son’s father-in-law through whose efforts financial support was given to the School.

Mrs Damalie said the School provided free text books for the children and would give them free uniforms to support needy ones get education.

Miss Carmen Kruth, a Director of Wings of Support who was in Ghana to participate in the inauguration commended the school authorities and UPCO for using the money for the purpose it was donated. She advised the children to take their studies seriously to become useful future leaders and pledged the continued support of Wings of Support for the school.

Mr Thomas Birikorang, an elder of Gomoa Nyanyano said Nana Obeng Wiabo V, Chief of the town had donated four acres of land for the future development of the School.

Mr Rockman Damalie, a retired educationist who chaired the function advised parents to invest in the education of their children since it was the best legacy they could bequeath to them.

He advised teachers to share ideas among themselves regularly since nobody had monopoly over wisdom.
