Class six pupil appear in court for murder

Sekondi March 04, GNA – Charles Anyanume, a 19-year-old class six pupil of Avrebo Primary School on Thursday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate’s Court for allegedly murdering a 43-year-old farmer. He was remanded to re-appear March 17.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, said the accused and the farmer, Isaac Kwesi Nyarko, both lived at Subri Number Two near Axim.

At about 1830 hours on February 13 Nyarko left home for a hunting expedition and at 2030 hours the same day the accused and a friend also left for hunting.

Chief Inspector Hedidor said the accused, who was using his father’s short gun, allegedly saw an antelope and shot at it. He said as the accused advanced towards the antelope, he heard somebody asking who had fired the shot. Chief Inspector Hedidor said the accused threw away the gun and run home and informed his father what had happened. Later, a search party found the dead body of Nyarko. The accused reported himself to the Police.
