Akim Swedru, (E/R) June 8, GNA – An 18-year-old class five pupil at Akim Oda, Benjamin Ehun, who detained his school mate in his room and sex with her for three consecutive days has been jailed for eight years in hard labour.
The convict pleaded guilty to the defilement of a child less than 16 years, under Section 101 of Act 29/10 of the Criminal Code. The Akim Swedru Circuit Court, presided by Mr Kofi Akrowiah, heard that sometime in May this year the convict approached the victim and proposed love to her, which she accepted.
On May 27, after the close of school, Ehun succeeded in convincing the girl to follow him to his house, where she stayed till May 31. During the period, Ehun had sex with the girl till May 30. The complainant, the girl’s father, through his investigations on the whereabouts of his daughter, found out that he was in Ehun’s room. He made a report to the Police and Ehun was arrested. 08 June 10
