CJA condemns statement on WAHALA demonstration

Cape Coast, Aug. 25, GNA – The Central Region branch of the committee for Joint Action (CJA), on Thursday expressed shock about what they described as verbal attacks on WAHALA demonstrators by President J.A Kufuor during his recent tour of the region.

A statement issued at Cape Coast and signed by Adams Kofi, Secretary, and two other members, Sarika Sumaila and Mcdonald Kobbs Tongo said it was dismayed about the remarks by the President to the effect that Wahala demonstrators should “go and farm if they have nothing doing.”

The statement said if the President reflected soberly on the various complaints and concerns raised by people during his recent tour, as well as during the recent press conference by the moderator of the Presbyterian Church, he would realise that, what the Wahala demonstrators have been protesting against were indeed realities and true.

It said any attempt to call them names and mock at them would lead to a higher momentum of demonstrations.
