Civil Servants to elect District, Regional Officers

Accra, Aug. 10, GNA – The Civil Servants’ Association of Ghana on Wednesday reminded members that elections to the various positions of the Association at the District and Regional levels are to be conducted this year in preparation for the National Delegates Congress which comes on in 2006.

A statement issued in Accra by the Secretariat said all interested eligible members of the Association should contact their various District and Regional Offices for further information as to the dates of the elections.

The statement said elective positions are: District Chairman and Trustee/Organiser, Regional Chairman, Treasurer, Organiser and Trustee. “Positions of Secretary at both Regional and District levels remain appointive.”

It said copies of the Constitution of the Association were available at all the various District and Regional Offices of the Association, adding that the criteria for elections as laid down in the Constitution would be strictly adhered to.
