City Link plane makes emergency landing

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA – A Chartered City Link plane with nine passengers and two crew on board made an emergency landing at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Monday after its undercarriage fell off during take-off.

The 19-seater Letts 410UVP plane took off at 1040 hours for Tarkwa in the Western Region but the front tyres fell off during the process, civil aviation sources told the Ghana News Agency (GNA). The sources said in line with emergency procedures, the pilot discharged fuel landed without any casualty.

The runway at the Kotoka International Airport was closed for 30 minutes for the aircraft to be salvaged. The plane has now been taken off the runway.
