City FM Donates to Orphanage Home in Upper East

Yorogo (U/E), March 24,GNA- City FM, an Accra based FM station, on Monday presented a cash donation of 2000 Ghana cedis and other foodstuff including 10 bags of rice , two containers of oil, varieties of soaps, milk, fruit juices among others worth 1000 Ghana Cedis to Mama Lady Mothers Foster Home in Yorogo near Bongo District in the Upper East Region. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the donation, Mr. Richard Mensah, Operation Manager of City FM explained that the donation formed part of the “Easter Orphanage Project” initiated by City FM, where Orphanage Homes which were much in dire need were identified and assisted.

He explained that the donation also formed part of the Social Cooperate Responsibility of City FM to the help the needy. Mr Mensah stated that the donation justified that City FM was not only out to serve the parochial interest of people but went beyond satisfying the interest of public in terms of informing, educating and entertainment. He commanded all the agencies that contributed to the City FM “Easter Orphanage Project” and appealed to others to also help in alleviating the plight of orphanages. Mr. Abdul Karim Nantogmah, Upper East Regional Correspondent of the FM Station told the GNA that Mama Lady Orphanage was selected based on the isolated nature of the place. He reiterated the need for the media to go an extra mile by canvassing to help the needy. Mr Nantogmah emphasized that City FM would strive to promote and showcase the rich potentials of the Region, especially in the area of tourism.

He appealed to corporate bodies and the public not to hesitate to contact the City FM branch in the Region. Ms Ofelia Ayimpokbila Ayine, Manageress of the home thanked City FM for the donation and pledged to promote the welfare of the orphanage. She appealed to other bodies to emulate the shinning examples of City FM.
