Citizens of Twifo Nuamakrom embark on self-help project

Twifo Praso (CR), Aug 23, GNA – The people of Nuamakrom in the Twifo Heman-Lower Denkyera District have embarked on a number of self help projects.

They have built a block of six classrooms for the Presbyterian Primary School, a block of three classrooms for the District Assembly JSS and renovated five boreholes with support of the district assembly and Praso Area Development Programme of World Vision, Ghana. Mr William Okomeng Agyapong, Assembly Member for Nuamakrom/Afosu Electoral Area, told the GNA in an interview that the people implemented the projects through self-help.

He commended the assembly and World Vision for the support and appealed to the assembly to speed up work on all uncompleted SIF projects in the district.

Mr Agyapong urged the Department of Feeder Roads to improve the eight-kilometre road from Twifo Kenkwase Junction to Kenkwase to facilitate evacuation of foodstuffs to marketing centres.
