Citizens of New Techiman urged to ensure hygienic practices

New Techiman (B/A) May 27, GNA- Mr. John Asamani, Environmental Health Officer in-charge of Tanoso in the Techiman Municipality, has called on the people to ensure hygienic and sound environmental practices to promote their health.

Mr Asamani, who was addressing chiefs, food sellers and unit committee members at New Techiman on environmental and health issues, said the best way for a community to progress was through good sanitation practices to protect the people against diseases. Mr Kwamina Gyasi, also an Environmental Officer, expressed dissatisfaction that some people indiscriminately defecated at the banks of rivers and around other water bodies and dumped refuse into gutters.

He advised opinion leaders to periodically organise the people, especially the youth for clean-up exercises.
