Citizens Of Jaman To Undertake Communal Labour Once A Month

Drobo (Brong Ahafo), 8 Oct.,

Mr Mathew Osei Gyasi, District Chief Executive for Jaman, has declared the last Friday of every month as communal labour day in the district. Mr Gyasi made this known during an environmental cleanliness campaign at Japekrom in the Brong-Ahafo region last weekend. Soon after the launching, the people cleared weeds, swept the main streets and removed heaps of refuse from the market place. Mr Joseph Yaw Aidoo, national chairman of Concerned Citizens Association of Ghana stressed the importance of everybody showing interest in making the environment clean. He commended Mr. Kwabena Bene, a 25-year-old Akpeteshie seller for his communal spirit and his ability to influence others to keep the environment clean. Mr Nicholas Appiah-Kubi, Member of Parliament for Jaman, urged the people to take environmental cleanliness seriously in order to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
