Citizens appeals to Christian council to check false pastors

Sunyani, Aug. 11, GNA – Some residents of the Sunyani Municipality o= n Thursday appealed to the Christian Council of Ghana to flush out false pastors and 93mushroom” missionary schools in the country. They said fake pastors and spiritualists had been engaging in scandals such as snatching of cars, armed robbery, child trafficking and sex abuse. Mr. Patrick Nsia Asare of Fiapre told the Ghana News Agency that the Council must give the issue equal attention as they did recently to homosexuality and lesbianism.

He said 93The conduct of these self-appointed men of God undoubtedly shows that they lack the ability to spread the gospel.” Mr Asare said some pastors attended pastoral schools for three months and bestowed pastoral titles on themselves while some who had spent about 2= 0 years in the pastoral work had not bestowed any titles on themselves. Mrs. Esther Akua Agyekum in Sunyani said 93the so-called men of God h= ave departed from preaching the good message of the Lord to the people and have rather turned God’s house into money making business centres.”

She urged the Christian Council and the government to check the mushroom pastoral schools, as well as unregistered prayer camps and churche= s to get rid of the fake pastors. “What is so devilish about the fake pastors is that their misdemeano= rs, including their false prophecies, have led to broken homes and families”, Mrs Agyekum said.
