Citizens appeal for new morgue for Nkoranza hospital

Nkoranza (B/A), Jan. 21, GNA – Concerned citizens at Nkoranza in the Brong- Ahafo Region have appealed to citizens abroad to help provide a modern mortuary to replace the facility at Saint Theresa’s Hospital in the town. So often, corpses at the hospital’s present morgue have had to be removed for burial at short notice because of the bad condition of the facility.

According to a group of concerned citizens who visited the hospital, rodents sometimes fed on corpses kept at the mortuary over night. The group also noted that the poor state of the mortuary could be hazardous to the health of the workers of the Hospital and the people. The group, therefore, appealed to the District Assembly to collaborate with citizens abroad for the construction of a better mortuary for the hospital.
