Circuit Court fines former magistrate judge

A circuit court at Fiapre in the Sunyani West District on Monday imposed a GH? 2,000.00 fine on a former Magistrate Court Judge.

The court presided by Justice Yaw Obikyere ordered Mrs Janet Awo Bakude, a former judge at the Sunyani Magistrate Court to vacate her official residence within 10 days.

The Judicial Committee filed a suit at the court to compel the defendant to vacate the government bungalow she was occupying, though Mrs Bakude was removed from office in September 2014 and had failed to leave the duty post, insisting her removal from office was unlawful.

But when the case was called, the Presiding Judge ruled in favour of the Judicial Committee, and ordered the defendant to vacate the bungalow.
