CILIA Children’s Home appeals for assistance

Reverend Mrs Charlotte Osei Kwarteng, Founder and Proprietor of CILIA Children’s Home at Yawhima in the Brong Ahafo Region, has appealed for assistance to ensure its effective management.

She made the appeal when a Ghanaian footballer, Kwame Afriyie Acquah, based in Italy, donated some food items valued at GH¢700.00 to the home, known as Compassion Is Love in Action (CILIA).

The items included 100 tubers of yams, 11 bags of sachet water, three boxes of top-up fruit juice, 50 kilogrammes of Americana perfumed rice, biscuits and frytol cooking oil.

She said the major challenge of the home was financial adding that because it had no financiers, expenditures including payment of workers and utility bills had been a burden.

Rev. Kwarteng, therefore, appealed to individuals, corporate bodies, Non Governmental Organisations and the general public to support the home to make life comfortable for the children.

She said the home had 32 inmates, the youngest being a one year-old baby girl while the eldest, an 18-year old boy, is attending the local Seventh Day Adventist Junior High School.
