Churches urged to promote discipline

Akuma (B/A) Aug. 14, GNA- Mr Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Nkoranza District Chief Executive (DCE), has urged religious leaders to use the pulpit to promote discipline among the youth. This was contained in a speech read for him at the ninth annual district rally of Nkoranza Presbyterian Church Young Peoples Guild at Akuma in Brong Ahafo.

Mr Ampofo-Twumasi expressed concern about indiscipline among the youth and asked religious leaders to spearhead the campaign against indiscipline.

He advised the youth not to allow unscrupulous people to influence them with money and cause violent acts during the December election. Mr Osei Tachie, Catechist in-charge of the Church, urged Ghanaians to have faith in God and do away with pleasures.

Miss Joyce Nyamadie, Nkoranza District Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice advised members of the church to distinguish between self-acquired properties and family property to avoid conflicts.

“The best way for anyone to protect his/her surviving spouse, children, parents and family against such problems is to make a Will on self acquired properties”, she added. The Reverend Joseph Dankyi Baafi, District Minister, urged the youth to lead lives worthy of emulation.
