Churches mark Yam Festival with church service

Dromankese (B/A), Oct. 23, GNA – Rev Dr. Alfred Ofosu Asante, Director of Solid Rock Baptist Mission, has said the only way the youth could receive blessings from God “is when they are disciplined, law abiding and honour the elderly in society.” He appealed to the youth to live above reproach and allow the teachings of the Bible to reflect in their lives to enable them to grow to become useful and responsible citizens. Rev. Dr. Asante was preaching at a joint church service organised at Dromankese by 11 local churches to as part of the Munufie Yam festival of the chiefs and people.

He expressed concern about moral decadence among the youth in spite of the proliferation of churches and advised the youth to eschew all forms of social vices. Rev. Dr. Asante appealed to parents to invest much of their resources in the education of their children and called on the youth of political parties to shun practices that could affect the success of the general election. The participating churches were Roman Catholic Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Presbyterian Church, Church of Christ, Church of Brotherhood and the New Apostolic Church. Others were the Apostolic Continuation Church, Anglican Church, Church of Pentecost and Methodist Church.
