Churches advised to initiate positive programmes

Kumasi, Jan 14, GNA- Reverend Baffour Osei-Tawiah, President of Universal Prayer Link, a non-denominational organization in Kumasi, has called on Churches to initiate positive programmes towards the transformation of the society.

This, he said, would also help curb the increasing social vices including armed robbery, prostitution, rape, affecting development. Rev. Osei-Tawiah, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi at the weekend, said the activities of Churches should complement efforts of government at eradicating social vises.

He called on Churches to intensify their evangelism to win more souls for Christ and asked Christians to live upright lives. Rev. Osei-Tawiah appealed to Ghanaians to contribute to the development of the country, adding that national development should not be the responsibility of government.

Concerning the 2008 Election, he appealed to Ghanaians to pray for peaceful, free and fair polls.

Rev. Osei-Tawiah asked the various political parties in the country to conduct their electioneering campaigns devoid of unnecessary utterances that could mar the beauty of the polls.
