Church worship is not for entertainment – Clergyman

Kumasi, May 9, GNA – Reverend Daniel Ofori-Danso of the Liberation Christian Centre at Oforikrom in Kumasi, has reminded Christians that Church worship was not an entertainment show but a time to have meaningful close fellowship with God. He expressed unhappiness about instances where some Church members took advantage during worship to engage in all manner of dancing and bodily movements (secular dancing), which he said were common among unbelievers at public events. Rev Ofori-Danso, who is the pastor in charge of music, made the observation at the launch of a book he authored and titled: “Church Music Work Book” in Kumasi at the weekend. The 56-page book has nine lessons and was published by Nabaf Printing Press. It generally deals with the dimensions of Christian music and worship, the pastor and praises, the music ministry and church growth. The clergyman said he was motivated by the high rate of adulterated gospel music and secular dancing that had reared its ugly head in the church in recent times into writing the book. Rev. Ofori-Danso hoped the contents would go a long way to change the lives of readers. 9 May 09
