Koforidua, March 08, GNA – The Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church on Tuesday presented a set of optical equipment valued at 50 million cedis to the Eye Clinic of the Koforidua Regional Hospital. The equipment included an automatic edging machine, an automatic pattern making machine, a layout marker for lenses and some spare parts. Presenting the items, Right Rev. Benjamin Francis Quashie, Anglican Bishop of Koforidua, said the equipment were donated by the All Saints Anglican Church of Deamead in the United Kingdom to the diocese for presentation to the hospital.
He said the donation was the outcome of a visit by a group of Anglicans from the All Saints Anglican Church of Deamead to the hospital sometime ago.
Rt. Rev. Quashie was optimistic that the equipment would enhance operations of the clinic.
Dr Obeng Apori, Medical Superintendent of the hospital received the equipment and later presented them to Dr Kofi Addy of the clinic. He thanked the Anglican Church for the donation and assured them that the equipment would be used efficiently and effectively for patients at the clinic.
Dr Apori appealed to patients at the clinic to co-operate with personnel of the department to provide them with the needed services and care.
