Kumasi, May 1, GNA – The Asokwa Area Women’s Movement of the Church of Pentecost in Kumasi on Thursday donated items worth 400 Ghana cedis to the Kumasi South Hospital at Kyirapatre in Kumasi.
The items included assorted fruit juices, cartons of soaps and detergents, dustbins and toilet rolls.
They also embarked on a clean-up exercise at the hospital. Making the presentation, Mrs. Comfort Antwi, leader of the movement, said the donation and the clean-up was their annual social responsibility to the hospital.
She appealed to other women groups in various churches to donate to the hospitals for the upkeep of patients and the needy in society.
Dr. Theodore Ofosu, a Medical Officer at the hospital, who received the items, thanked the movement for the gesture.
He said the hospital, which has been upgraded into a regional one needs a lot of equipment, especially a generator and appealed to philanthropists, non-government organizations (NGOs) and religious bodies to assist the hospital to bring quality health care for the people.
