Church of Pentecost informs death of Prophet Yeboah

Accra, Jan.20, GNA- The Executive Council of the Church of Pentecost on Tuesday officially informed the Government of the death of Prophet Martinson Kwadwo Yeboah, a former Chairman of the Church. Apostle Dr Michael K. Ntumy, Chairman of the Council, who led an eight-member delegation to the Castle, Osu to inform President John Agyekum Kufuor about the death, said Prophet Yeboah, 79, died on December 8, last year at the 37 Military Hospital.
He said the final funeral rites of Prophet Yeboah who was also a member of the Council of State 1992-96 would be held at the Accra Academy School on Saturday January 31.
Apostle Ntumy described the Prophet Yeboah, who served in the ministry for 47 years, as a Statesman and an illustrious son of Ghana who served the State without receiving any allowance.
President Kufuor said Prophet Yeboah distinguished himself and fulfilled a worthy mission in life.
He expressed regret for his inability to attend the thanksgiving service to climax the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Church in Accra because 50 years in the life of any institution was significant. President Kufuor commended the Church for its role in education and other contributions to the country and urged them to continue to improve on the spiritual and material needs of their members and society. He said with the Church establishing 54 branches word-wide and its headquarters in Ghana had made it more formidable to raise the flag of Ghana for other people to know the potentials of the country.
