Church holds thanks-giving service

Koforidua, Dec 10, GNA – The Full Gospel Church International in Koforidua has held a thanksgiving service to thank God for the miraculous escape of President John Agyekum Kufuor in his recent motor accident.

The congregation, most of whom wore white, expressed their gratitude to God for saving the life of the President, sang praises and prayed for peaceful general elections next year. In a sermon the Senior Pastor of the church, Reverend Clement Oboh, said the hand of God was upon the country. He described the discovery of oil in the country as one of the wonderful things to have happened in the life of the country and urged Ghanaians to thank God for it.

Pastor Oboh said the Spirit of God was protecting Ghana and that was why the President escaped death in the accident and predicted Ghana would enjoy more economic benefits next year. He appealed to Ghanaians to pray for the President for more wisdom to govern the nation.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Kwasi Adjei Boateng, commended the church for setting aside a day to offer thanks to the Lord for protecting the life of the President. He said Ghana was at the threshold of economic emancipation and that a few years to come, travelling outside the country to look for greener pasture would be a thing of the past.
