Church fetes people in Gomoa East District

Gomoa Achiase (C/R), Nov 3, GNA – The Swedru Central Assemblies of God Church, in partnership with the Eliza Rovere Ministries from the United States, has fed over 20,000 people in the Gomoa East District. The beneficial towns were Gomoa Mangoase, Gomoa Achiase and Otapirow. Addressing the people the Rev Charles Arkoh-Nunoo, former Central Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, said the get-together organized by the two churches for the people in the three towns was part of the programmes to propagate the gospel.

Rev Arkoh-Nunoo, who is also the Senior Pastor in charge of Swedru Central Assemblies of God Church, said the time had come for the churches to spend some of their collections and other proceeds to cater for the people especially the underprivileged.

He said the church must assist in the creation of jobs and wealth for the people and not to rely on the government alone in order to reduce poverty. Reverend Elliza Rovere, the founder of the Eliza Rovere Ministries, pledged to help the construction of Achiase branch of the Assemblies of God Church building, adding that it was the mission of the churches to cloth, provide shelter and feed the people. He said the relationship between the Assemblies of God in Ghana and his Ministries would be strengthened.
