Church donates to Pantang Hospital

PANTANG, SEPT. 20, GNA – The District Head Pastor, Mr. Emmanuel Kwablah Koranteng, on behalf of the branch of the Madina Divine Healers Church, on Monday presented food items worth three million cedis and a cash donation

of 500,000 cedis to the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital. Presenting the food items Pastor Koranteng said as a prelude towards the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Divine Healers Church, they have decided to come to the aid of the needy.

Pastor Koranteng added that when they visited the various wards at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital they were moved by the plight of the inmates and therefore, have adopted the Female Ward 11 and would take charge of its sanitation half yearly.

The items presented comprised, maize, sugar, gari, bread, oranges, banana and milk. Others are, detergents, toilet rolls and the local chewing sponge.

Receiving the items, a Nursing Officer Madam Grace Tetteh thanked the donors for their kind gesture and called on other benevolent societies to emulate them.

Speaking to GNA after the presentation, Mr. Koranteng said there would be a mammoth convention at the Black Star Square on September 26, 2004 and this will draw their counterparts from Togo, Benin, Cote D’Voire and the United States of America.

In addition to the presentation, the members of the Madina branch of the Devine Healers Church spent three hours weeding the surroundings of the Administration Block of the Hospital, while others swept and cleaned Wards 5, 9,10 and 11 of the Hospital.

In attendance at the clean-up exercise included, a Nursing Officer of the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital, Mr. Wisdom Fenuku, the Senior District Elder of the Devine Healers Church, Mr. Joseph Teye Mortey, who is also the CPP Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created Abokobi/Madina Constituency and church members.
