Church donates supplies to Tema General Hospital

Tema, March 23, GNA – A ‘Divine Healers Church’ based in Tema on Wednesday donated items valued at 21.5 million cedis and 500,000 cedis cash to the Tema General Hospital and its staff as part of activities to mark its 50th anniversary celebration.

The items for the hospital included four wheel chairs, four pews, 50 pieces each of blankets and bed sheets while the staff received bags of rice and other food supplies.

The District pastor of the Church, Rev. Moses Oblie said apart from fulfilling its social responsibility, the donation was also in recognition of the hospital staff’s immense contribution towards healthcare delivery in the municipality.

“In spite of the numerous problems facing all facilities countrywide, you have been unrelented in the discharge of your duties and you deserve to be rewarded for that”, he added.

He expressed the hope that the supplies would be put to good use to alleviate some of the problems of the hospital.

The Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Charity Sarpong, said she was happy that the people have appreciated their services.
