Church donates equipment to hospital

Sekondi, July 22, GNA – The Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints on Tuesday donated medical equipment valued at seven million cedis to the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital at Effia-Nkwanta. The items were purchased with funds raised during a two-day fasting and offering organised by members of the church. Mr Francis Acquah, an elder of the religious body said similar donations have been made to the Okomfo Anokye and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospitals and gave the assurance that the church would assist other health institutions in the country. He expressed the hoped that personnel at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital would put the equipment to good use. Mr Acquah said members of the church have set aside two days in every month for the activities in support of the poor and the needy in the society. Mrs B. Sackey, a nursing sister at the hospital, who received the items, thanked the Church for the gesture and appealed to other religious bodies and organisations to assist the hospital.
