Church donates computers to schools

Akim-Oda, July 20, GNA- Parables World Ministries, a religious organization with headquarters in Australia, on Tuesday, donated 44 computers and their accessories to two junior secondary schools in the Birim South and Kwaebibirem District.

The schools were the Akim Aboabo L/A JSS and the Kwaebibirem Model JSS at Otumi.

The Ministries also presented a computer to the Birim South District Office of the Department of the Social Welfare. Pastor Frank Essah, Executive Pastor in-charge of the Ghana branch, presented the items, valued at 540 million cedis, on behalf of the organization.

Making the presentation, he said the donation was aimed at helping to bridge the wide digital divide between the urban and rural schools. Pastor Essah appealed to the government to help remove obstacles facing charitable organizations at the ports when clearing such items. The Birim South District Director of Education, Mrs Stella Nanor who received the items on behalf of the schools, thanked the organisation for the gesture.
